Hubby can’t stand it. I don’t mind it but I don’t like it enough it use it with so much opposition from the other half.

For some cilantro is such an unpleasant flavour. I didn’t really like it at first but I am okay with small amounts in certain recipes. Like the chimichurri one I posted. I really don’t think you can taste it very much with the red wine vinegar

Oh my gosh, such a fabulous read on herbs! I am growing 6 different herbs in my hydroponic garden right now, and watching them grow brings me so much joy! I love the breakdown!

Thanks Melissa. Those little plants have some great health benefits as well as making our food taste good. I had a little herb garden inside for a while and it ended up getting gnats so I had to get rid of it. And our condo doesn’t have a deck so I can’t do any outside plants. But herbs are so cheap to buy here. And very fresh from the local farmers market.

I just wonder weather the amounts we actually eat of these herbs makes them all that beneficial 🤔 I use them for flavour, and because they’re easy to grow and have on hand. The health benefits are secondary for me.

Yes definitely for flavor in food. These little plants are pretty concentrated with their antioxidants and phytonutrients. It is amazing what our bodies do absorb from them. But using them as a tea or as an oil is definitely a good way of getting their health benefit

I usually use oregano, dill, green onions, and garlic on almost everything. I don't think green onions or garlic are herbs—maybe they're vegetables? But they do the same job.

Dill is a good one too. Especially for dill pickles.

This was so nice to read! I really like cilantro, in fact it's going in dinner this evening. My favorite herb is basil. I just love the smell and the taste of it.
