Every person may have a different answer to this question. How do you define health?
Is it dependent on tests that your doctor requests - bloodwork, x-rays, MRI’s?
Is health defined as the absence of disease?
Is health about how we feel? - energy levels, joint pain, digestive issues, skin health, weight gain or weight loss.
I am sure that many of us at some point have heard our primary doctors say ‘Your test results show you are in the normal range’ - So everything must be good and you get the clean bill of health. But is it? You listen to your body and know that you do not feel healthy. You are fatigued, gaining weight, have trouble sleeping, your moods are erratic and you just overall feel horrible. After some strong prompting to your doctor, he/she finally suggests pharmaceuticals to deal with the symptoms you are experiencing but never really looking to the root of the cause. These pharmaceuticals create other symptoms that are then masked with more pharmaceuticals. So starts the vicious circle of your ‘health’. We need to look at the true health rather then managing with drugs.
Listening to our bodies and breaking things down to basics is step one.

How Do I Define Health
In my opinion, health is about feeling good, having high energy levels, no major skin issues, stable moods, no joint pain or inflammation, a healthy body composition, a strong immune system and that means getting the appropriate rest and sleep and fueling our bodies with the right foods.
But I find that most people do not know what it actually feels like to feel healthy. Maybe it is told to them that it is normal to feel fatigued because of their lifestyle (stress, work, kids, etc..), normalize digestive issues and mood swings. Many do not associate these symptoms with the food we are eating or the food that we are not eating.
If what you are doing isn’t working for you, then just maybe you should evaluate what you are doing.
Getting back to the basics and start looking at how our ancestors thrived before processed and ultra processed foods, fast foods, drive thru’s, the standard American diet, desk jobs where we sat all day to come home and sit in front of a television or laptop.
Getting back to basics means:
prioritizing sleep
eating simply foods
getting unfiltered sunlight daily
movement daily
daily brain activity
Some simply steps that help you to define your health.
