I had a post already to go for this week, but realizing that we are at the end of 2023, so I thought I would recap some of the posts this year and give you a preview of what’s in store for 2024.
I started this newsletter back in April and I created Back to Basics of Nutrition to help readers see through all of the information that is being thrown out to us everyday on all the things health and nutrition. To provide information to everyone so that you can make to choices to your health.
I slowly created newsletters starting with the basics.
The building blocks of nutrition - Water, protein, fats, carbohydrates
Then I began breaking down some of the highly talked about and marketed health products and are they worth it - Collagen and Protein Powders.
We hear and learn about so much information online about what is good for us and what we shouldn’t consume. Salt, seed oils, bioengineered foods..so I delved into those subjects too.
I have got some good ones planned for 2024 - discussion of new studies, biohacking in 2024 and maybe even a few recipes as everyone likes to have those.
So for this short post, I just wanted to wish all my subscribers a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year.
On that note, I am running 21 Day Holistic Health Reset starting on January 14th. Go to my instagram to learn more about it. (back.2.basics.nutrition).
But before I sign off for until the New Year, I would be remis if I did not pass on some tips on staying healthy through the holidays..
Rest is important - It is okay to take time for yourself and take a mid afternoon nap or sleep in for an extra 30 minutes. Your body will need it.
Extra PROTEIN - Protein help feel full and lessen those sugar cravings and temptations that we all know be around us.
Alcohol - If you are wanting to enjoy a few cocktails over the holidays, prepare by hydrating during the day, include some electrolytes, or a pinch of sea salt in your water.
Movement is key. Take a 10 minute walk, do a short yoga session or get some strength training in. Your body and mind will thank you.
Cheers to 2023 and Here’s to a Happy and Healthy 2024
